        • Watch Batteries & Reseal
            • Most watch batteries are designed to last for up-to 2 years in modern quartz watches. Proactively replacing your watch battery will ensure that your watch will continue working correctly and at The Watch Lab our expert watch technicians will also reseal and pressure test your watch ensuring that it remains protected against the elements. Our expert technicians are specially trained to understand the requirements of each watch, across all well-known brands and watch types. We’re happy to discuss the process with you and offer any advice you may be looking for.

In order to provide a full and professional service, we always pressure test your watch using our state of the art Witschi Chronoproof Pro Blue Steel pressure testers, along with performing a hydro-tech flash test, that detects microscopic changes in the watch case. We then test for positive and negative pressure, check battery consumption and provide a print-out of the water resistance level of your watch.

        • Service Plus
            • If you own a high value wristwatch that may have been given to you as a gift from a loved one, or perhaps bought for yourself as an investment piece, chances are you will want to look after this. The Watch Lab offers a comprehensive Service+ programme that ensures your watch is given the care and attention required to last a lifetime. What’s more – The Watch Lab Service+ includes a free gift, exclusive privilege card, as well as discounts across our other watch repair and restoration services.

The Watch Lab operates across 20 Labs nationwide, ensuring you can easily find a watch repair service close to you. As watch repair experts, we recommend booking your watch for a Service+ every 3-5 years for a mechanical timepiece and every 5 years for quartz. Particularly with high value branded watches, specialist care should be taken to keep the parts in good working order, the movement smooth and efficient, and the aesthetics up to scratch.

        • Movement Repairs & Servicing
            • Has your watch stopped? Is it struggling to keep time? If your watch has a movement fault, our comprehensive movement repair and regulation service could be just what you are looking for. Each of our technical experts are trained to the highest possible standards, and are experienced in both mechanical and quartz watch movements.

When a watch is brought into one of our Labs, the movement is first assessed to identify the most cost-effective process for you. Where required, quartz movements are stripped, serviced and repaired using state-of-the-art machinery. Any worn or defective internal components, such as circuits or coils, are renewed as necessary with precise accuracy.

        • Valeting & Polishing
            • A scratched watch case and bracelet can diminish the look of the watch, fortunately The WATCH Lab will be able to refurbish the metal on your watch to restore the original finish. When it comes to removing scratches and marks from high value watches, considerable care should be taken. Quartz and mechanical watch types from high-end brands are crafted with intricate parts, delicate components and specialist materials, which should be professionally handled by trained technicians who have the right expertise in watch care and maintenance.

The Watch Lab offers a comprehensive valeting service that is suited for all types of watch including popular brands such as Tag Heuer and Omega. Much like valeting a car, our professional valeting services allow you to maintain the appearance of your watch for longer. Your local Lab can carry out ultrasonic cleaning on your watch, called a mini-valet, cleaning and sanitising your watch by removing dirt, grease and oxidisation.

        • Dial Restoration
            • A watch’s dial or face is the most visible part of the watch and therefore if it is damaged or discoloured – whether due to age, water damage, or a knock or drop – then it has a large impact on the watch’s appearance. If a dial is very badly damaged, then for most modern watches the best solution is to replace the dial with a new one. However, for anything that is vintage or no longer in production, we are instead able to repair a damaged dial, or in some cases, restore a dial back to its original condition.

Quite commonly the markers, logo or numbers on a dial can become loose and fall out of their position. During a dial repair, we will reaffix these into place without leaving any evidence of the dial having been repaired. A dial restoration is a more specialised job that requires the dial to be dismantled and then slowly built back together, providing the original colour, finish and decoration to the dial.

        • Watch Glass Replacement
            • If you have a scratched watch glass, or a cracked or smashed watch crystal, then we can offer a high quality replacement fitted by trainined technicians. For some brands we are able to get a brand new like-for-like replacement watch glass from the manufacturer, and for older models of watches where new parts are no longer available, we have a range of high quality sapphire, mineral and acrylic watch glass replacements, in a range of shapes, thicknesses and sizes.

When the glass in your watch is scratched or chipped then it can not only damage the appearance of your watch, but the water resistance of your watch can also be compromised. Watch glasses are available in 3 different materials: sapphire, mineral and acrylic. Sapphire is incredibly tough and scratch resistant. As such, it is used on all the top-end brands. Mineral (or crystal) is easier to scratch than sapphire, but it is also much more affordable. Acrylic, which is used on older watches (or older styles), is a clear plastic glass usually shaped like a bubble.

        • Straps & Bracelets
            • Is your watch strap or bracelet worn or damaged? Does it no longer fit your wrist? Does the clasp no longer close properly? Or does the bracelet have scratches on it that you would like removed? Whether you want a replacement, repair or adjustment to your watch bracelet or strap your local The Watch Lab will be able to help. Each of our nationwide Labs have a range of high-quality leather straps in stock, and are able to help you choose a replacement from a catalogue of 100s of different styles, colours and sizes.

If your watch does not fit as well as it once did, then we will be able to either remove or add links into your bracelet, or add additional holes into your watch strap. Clasps can become strained and damaged over time, leaving them loosely fitting or unable to close correctly. We are able to carefully adjust your clasp to tighten it, or if not possible then we can offer a replacement new clasp. Through general wear and tear bracelets can become scratched and lose their original finish and shine.

        • Free Water Resistance Check
            • Many watches are resistant to water and can be worn while showering or swimming. The water resistance of a watch will deteriorate over time, as parts wear and seals degrade. At The Watch Lab, we offer a free water resistance check to anyone who requires one and we perform one as a matter of course whenever we carry out a routine battery and reseal service. This means that you can have the confidence that your watch is correctly sealed and water resistant at any of our 20 nationwide Labs.

Carrying out a free water resistance check ensures that all watch components, including the movement and dial, are safe-guarded against water damage. But water resistance is not the only benefit of our free check. Resealing the watch will also protect against dust exposure, dirt and pollution. It will prolong the life of the watch components – so that you have more longevity from your watch.

Skagen Battery & Reseal

  • Skagen Standard Watch

A standard watch simply has an hour, minute and often a second hand. Some may also have the added complexity of a date window.

Standard watches are very common and a popular choice for the fashion-conscious.

They are often the simplest watches to repair and service, but a full estimate & breakdown will always be provided.

  • Skagen Chrono Watch

Alongside the standard specification, a chronograph watch will have an additional, independent second hand that can be started, stopped and returned to zero.

Chrono watches allow the wearer to record the passing of time independently to the normal functions of the watch.

Additional repair services can be more complicated, but a full estimate & breakdown will always be provided.
